About the Game
It's Sushi O' Clock Game Overview
Players take turns being the customer and the sushi chef.
The sushi chef prepares a sushi for their customer - choosing the base (plain rice or wasabi) and a topping.
They present the sushi to the customer, who can choose to eat or to reject the dish. If rejected, the piece of sushi is put aside without revealing the base.
If the customer eats the sushi, the base is immediately revealed. If it's plain, the customer scores the points written on the topping! If it's wasabi, they lose the topping points!
But be careful! Eat 3 wasabi, and you immediately lose the game!

The Making of It's Sushi O'Clock!
The inspiration for creating "It's Sushi O'Clock!" came from my experience playing board games with friends during university.
I had such a great time playing games like Catan and Dominion, and I was deeply drawn to the social interactions that board games facilitate.
As we gathered to play board games, whether by bringing our own or visiting board game cafés and exploring various titles, I began to develop the desire to create an original board game of my own.
One of the core concepts I prioritized with "It's Sushi O'Clock!" was making it accessible and easy to play, even for beginners.
While there are many fascinating board games out there, some can be challenging due to complex rules or long playtimes, which might deter certain players.
With this in mind, I aimed to design a game that could be fully explained in just one minute.
At the same time, I made sure to incorporate elements of role-playing and psychological strategy—key aspects that make board games so engaging—so players could fully enjoy reading their opponents’ minds.
The theme of "sushi" was chosen because it’s widely loved and leaves a positive impression, even among international audiences.
Personally, I love games that involve psychological strategy and reading opponents, so I blended that element into a game that’s both easy to understand and quick to play.
Another immensely rewarding aspect of developing this game was the connections it helped me build with others.
I was especially delighted when a creator named KAEDE discovered "It's Sushi O'Clock!" and built a dedicated world in VRChat where people could play it.
Shortly after its release, the world attracted over 15,000 visitors and gained more than 2,000 favorites.
It even ranked among the popular worlds, and well-known VRChat content creators featured it in their videos.
Seeing so many people enjoy the game has been an incredibly joyful experience ☺️.
