About the Game

TRiNiTY Game Overview

In TRiNiTY, players will attempt to guess, in order, the numbers of the three target cards their opponent chose at the beginning of the game. Below is a brief overview of the game. More detailed rules can be found in the rulebook included with your purchase.

Game Setup:
Each player draws a hand of five cards. The remaining cards are placed in the center of the play area as the deck. Of their hand of five, each player will choose three cards to be their target cards. These cards represent the numbers another player will be trying to guess throughout the course of the game. The two unchosen cards will be each player's starting hand.

Turn Overview:
Each numbered card corresponds with a different character from the TRiNiTY world, each of whom activates different effects when used. On a given player's turn, they will:
1. Draw a card, if there are cards left in the deck. This step is skipped if no cards remain.
2. Play a card from their hand, activating its effect. Effects often help the player gain information about their opponent's target cards, like forcing them to "subtract their smallest target card from their largest." Some are trickier, allowing the turn player to swap out one of their own target cards with a card in the deck. As players gain more information about each other's target cards, taking notes becomes more important!
3. Players finish their turn by attempting to guess the other player's target cards (the player to the left in a three player game).

Guessing Target Cards and Ending the Game:
When guessing another player's target cards, players must point to each card as they guess it. If the player gets both the digit and position of a card right, then the card is treated as correct.

If a player had the target cards (2 - 5 - 0) and the turn player guessed (1 - 5 - 3), the guessing player got one card correct (the 5). The player whose cards were guessed only needs to say how many cards the other played got correct. They do not need to specifically reveal which card was correct.

Even if they get the numbers themselves right, if the positions do not also match, the card is treated as incorrect. In the previous example, a guess of (0 - 2 - 5) would count as getting zero cards correct because every number is in the wrong position.

If at any point a player correctly guesses all of another player's target cards, the exposed player must say "Trinity!" And the player who made the guess wins the game!
