About the Game

Munch Mime Game Overview

In Munch Mime, you will either pretend to eat the food listed on your mime card or try to guess the food another player is pretending to eat. Below is a general overview of the game. More detailed rules can be found in the rulebook.

Types of Cards and Setup:
There are two types of cards in Munch Mime—mime cards and munch cards. Mime cards (shown above) have foods written on them, and are used to designate what food a player should mime eating on their turn. Mime cards are shuffled at the beginning of the game, then distributed face-down to each player. Players should not look at their mime cards, and should instead place them in a small deck in front of them.

Munch cards (shown above) are slightly larger, and only have pictures of food on them. They are spread out face-up in the middle of the playing area at the start of the game. Each Munch card serves as the answer to a matching mime card.

On Your Turn:
On a player’s turn, they will draw a mime card from their deck, and begin to act out eating the designated food. Using the provided cutlery is optional—doing so may make things easier for younger players, while refraining provides a more nuanced challenge. While the current player is miming their food, the other players will try to figure out what exactly it is they are pretending to eat.

Making Guesses and Earning Cards:
When someone has a guess, they will slap the munch card on the table that corresponds with what they think the current player is miming. If correct, the current player and the player who guessed correctly earn the respective mime/munch card as a prize. If incorrect, the guessing player can no longer make guesses for the turn, and the current player will continue to act out eating their food. The remaining players may continue guessing until someone gets it right or everyone has guessed incorrectly.

At the end of the game, the player with the most prize cards is the winner!
