Second Best Game Overview
In Second Best, players try and outmaneuver their opponent by strategically placing and moving disks of their color to meet one of the win conditions of the game.
On your turn, you either place a disk on an empty space, stack it on another disk (so long as the stack doesn't exceed three pieces), or move a disk of your color.
Once per turn, your opponent can call "Second Best!", forcing you to undo your move and choose a different one. It is important to have backup plans and secondary moves in mind for this scenario. You may also want to make a suboptimal move initially in order to bait your opponent into using their "Second Best!" ability for the turn prematurely.
The first player to either:
- Have three disks of their color in one stack
- Have the top disk on four adjacent spaces be their color
- Prevent their opponent from a legal move
...wins the game!
